Sillages by Griffé – Véra Strübi
For the seconde edition of Sillages, Griffé welcomes Véra Strübi, one of the most influencial figures in contemporary perfumery.
From her early days selling false eyelashes in shopping malls to becoming president of Thierry Mugler Parfums, her journey defied conventional career paths. Guided as much by intuition as by her deep understanding of the market, she developed a distinctive vision of perfumery – one rooted in emotion, storytelling, and lasting relationships with customers.
Early on, she also recognized the potential of a new generation of fashion designers. Working alongside Claude Montana and later Thierry Mugler, she helped shape a new approach to fragrance – one conceived not merely as an expression of an aesthetic universe, but as an extension of a creative force and a vision capable of challenging conventions.
Throughout this conversation, we will revisit this remarkable journey, explore the intuitions that guided her, and discuss the role she played in the emergence of modern designer fragrance.

Perfume, like a cocktail, is the result of a skillful blend. An alchemy of materials held within a custom-made glass vessel, somewhere between intuition and craftsmanship. A few elements which, when combined just right, create something unforgettable. This delicate union is not expressed only in the olfactory formula: behind every iconic fragrance, there are women and men whose gestures, ideas, and sensibilities come together to shape a shared vision.
Sillages evokes the trail a perfume leaves in the air, but also the imprint an iconic product leaves on history. Sillages is an invitation to explore the memory of perfumery through a series of conversations with those who have shaped it.
Bottle designers, perfumers, photographers, artistic directors, strategists… all share the creation stories, intuitions, lucky accidents, and dialogues that gave life to fragrances that have become legendary.
