For this new Special Editions event, Lucas Marchetti welcomes Mélanie Scarciglia, Maddalena Quarta, and Christophe Boutin from the publishing house Three Star Books.

Based in Paris’s 13th arrondissement since 2007, Three Star Books is one of the most distinctive publishing ventures on the contemporary art scene, specializing in rare, handmade, limited-edition objects that go far beyond the physical and conceptual boundaries of the book. From Maurizio Cattelan to Lawrence Weiner, from Tauba Auerbach to Rirkrit Tiravanija, each publication is the result of close collaboration a dialogue between craftsmanship and creative vision.

At Three Star Books, there is only one rule: the artist is everything. The book is merely a starting point, an invitation to invent new forms, to push materials to the very edge of sculpture and pure editorial expression. This encounter invites us to reflect on what publishing still means: nourished by craftsmanship and the passage of time, the book becomes here a testing ground and a space of resistance.

Special Editions is a series of events dedicated to objects and books. At the intersection of design and publishing, Special Editions questions the status of works and objects that occupy a special place in the lives of creatives, authors.

Is there a story behind the object? What is the personal narrative, the emotion, the feeling behind the words, the lines, the forms? What does the book say about its author? What does the object say about the person who created it? And what, in turn, do the creator say about their object and the author about their book? What else do they say about those who collect them, appreciate them?

To find out, Luca Marchetti proposes through Special Editions a series of meetings for those who love slow time and intimate correspondences. The object is at the service of meaning in a conversation of another kind, at once escape, experience, entertainment and communion.
