For the 14th edition of the festival, CRAVAN welcomes PhotoSaintGermain for a series of four exclusive talks dedicated to photography. Moderated by Rubis Mécénat and A Women’s Art Association, these conversations will bring together artists, curators, and photography historians for open dialogues on contemporary practices and on the multiple forms and narratives that images can take today.

Saturday, November 8 at 6 PM:
Jabulani Dhlamini — moderated by Valérie Fougeirol

Continuing the collaboration with Rubis Mécénat and its social and artistic mentorship program Of Soul and Joy, PhotoSaintGermain presents this year a discussion focused on South African photography (in resonance with the exhibition What’s the Word? Johannesburg! at Fondation A in Brussels, on view until December 21), featuring photographer Jabulani Dhlamini and independent curator Valérie Fougeirol.
(Talk in English)

Thursday, November 13 at 7:30 PM:
Damarice Amao and Clara Bouveresse

Damarice Amao (photography historian, curator at the Photography Department of the Centre Pompidou, and exhibition curator) and Clara Bouveresse (photography historian, lecturer, and exhibition curator) will reflect, in parallel, on their respective career paths and on the roles they play today—through their different positions at the university and the museum—in shaping the history of photography. They will also discuss the representation and visibility of women in photography exhibitions.

Thursday, November 20 at 7:30 PM:
Sixtine de Thé — moderated by Victoria Le Boloc’h-Salama from A Women’s Art Association

Artist Sixtine de Thé and Victoria Le Boloc’h-Salama, art critic and podcast producer, will engage in a conversation about the exhibition Pellicules aveugles, presented by the artist at the National Institute for Blind Youth (INJA) as part of the PhotoSaintGermain program.

Thursday, November 27 at 7:30 PM:
Stéphanie Solinas — moderated by Virginie Huet

Artist Stéphanie Solinas and Virginie Huet, journalist and art critic, will discuss the artist’s latest project Devenir soi-même (“Becoming Oneself”), a vast investigation carried out across the roads of the American West, where—between science and belief—the human of tomorrow is being imagined.
